  MCN is currently looking to employ a Verification Co-ordinator who will play a pivotal role within the company managing the reconciliation of on air schedules and commercial asruns. The candidate will be liaising closely with Foxtel channels and Foxtel On Air to ensure the spot verification process is maintained within required deadlines. The candidate will also be responsible for the communication of asrun data to an external company called Xtreme and will respond to any discrepancies. You will also be required to build strong relationships with the sales team.
  
  To be successful in this role you must:

  • be self motivated;
  • have meticulous attention to detail;
  • a great multi-tasker; and
  • be deadline driven.

  
  As an entry level role, this position would suit someone looking to establish their career in the media industry. We welcome university graduates, however as we provide extensive on the job training, a degree is not essential. Data entry and/or administration experience will be highly regarded.

• Assistant Accountant

  MCN is currently looking to employ an Assistant Accountant who can come in as the second in charge of the finance department to work with the Financial Controller to manage the team.
  
  This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic self starting individual to join a friendly team within a dynamic company where they will get exposure to all facets of accounting and be given the chance to take on as much responsibility as they can prove they are capable of handling.
  
  Tasks will include:
  

  • Preparation of monthly revenue distribution calculations and reports;
  • Running weekly sales reports;
  • Ensuring all journals are processed and account reconciliations performed on a monthly basis;
  • Management of all FBT requirements including monthly accruals and preparation of annual return;
  • Preparation of monthly BAS;
  • Ad hoc projects and tasks as may arise from time to time to assist other members of the finance team.

  
  Skills required:
  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as this position will need to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proactivity and initiative in order to drive process improvements and to manage their own and the department's workload;
  • Effective management skills in order to supervise, train and inspire junior team members;
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the role to take on more responsibility as time goes on.

  
  Systems:
  

  • MCN uses Peoplesoft as its general ledger system. Experience with using this system would be beneficial but is not essential.

  
  This role would ideally suit someone who has several years experience in a generalist finance environment, managing a small team of people. Degree/CPA qualified candidates preferred.

  Sales Co-ordinator: This role supports in the day-to-day co-ordination of advertising sales activities to ensure the effective operation of the business. The main responsibilities of this role are to monitor and handle all incoming enquiries, including the follow up of all agency requests, and to manage the booking process from beginning to end. This role would suit someone with excellent administration skills, an outgoing personality and a passion for selling.

  Verification Coordinator: This role plays a pivotal role within the company by managing the reconciliation of on air schedules and commercial Asruns. It involves liaising closely with Foxtel channels and Foxtel On Air to ensure the spot verification process is maintained within required deadlines.
  
  Strategic Integration Co-ordinator: The SI department focuses on creating, developing, executing and managing integrated sponsorship campaigns across the STV channels. This role itself supports the day-to-day coordination of advertising information and sales activities to ensure the above is carried out effectively and innovatively. This will include channel marketing & management, strategy development, creative idea generation and administrative support to the team. PowerPoint skills are a great advantage.
