Foxtel Media today announced a spectacular sponsorship line-up of new and returning powerhouse brands for the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, which kicks off on March 7. It comes as Foxtel Group platforms see record-breaking audiences for live sport, with 1.46 million viewers exclusively watching the AFL on Fox Footy.
Last year’s AFL season was the most watched season ever across Foxtel Group platforms, with viewership growing 33% year-on-year. The Geelong Cats vs Brisbane Lions preliminary final game recorded an average audience of 860,000, breaking records as the most-watched and most-streamed AFL game of all time across Foxtel, Foxtel GO/Now and Kayo Sports.
Now, a host of new sponsors are coming on board for action-packed footy action, including BP, Lion, Jameson, HBF, LG, Vodafone and Aussie Broadband.
Meanwhile, Toyota, Ford, Sportsbet, Maccas, KFC, Bunnings, Harvey Norman, AAMI, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, NAB and Ashley & Martin return as sponsors this season.
Exclusive sponsorships this year include Ford as the Pre- and Post-Game naming rights partner for Thursday Night Footy and Friday Night Footy, with auto sector exclusivity over those days. Meanwhile, Toyota nabs the Super Saturday LIVE sponsorship spot.
The AFL season will again kick off with two matches in New South Wales with Sydney taking on Hawthorn and Greater Western Sydney up against Collingwood. This year’s Gather Round will be hosted in South Australia, with matches in Adelaide, Norwood and the Barossa.
Debuting in 2025 as part of the new AFL broadcast deal will be Super Saturday LIVE on Fox Footy - the only place to watch live AFL on a Saturday in Victoria and Tasmania for every round of the home and away season, and nationally for at least the first eight rounds.
- Viewers in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory will be able to watch AFL on a Saturday from the Opening Round to Round 24 exclusively live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
- Viewers in New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory will be able to watch AFL on a Saturday from the Opening Round to Round 10 exclusively live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
- Viewers in South Australia and Western Australia will be able to watch AFL on a Saturday from the Opening Round to Round 8 exclusively live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
For the first time, Fox Footy will also feature dedicated commentary teams on every match plus bespoke graphics and coverage in 4k, giving audiences more choice than ever before. The 2025 season will also feature new on-screen talent with Tom Hawkins, Adam Simpson, Shaun Burgoyne and Leigh Matthews joining the Fox Footy team.
Additionally, AFL360 will welcome new host Garry Lyon to the program, to sit alongside Gerard Whateley from Monday to Wednesday, while Jack Riewoldt takes over as host of On The Couch.
